Q: Do I need to visit a doctor first to get my ultrasound done?
A: NO, if you are not pregnant.
Q:What are the indication of ultrasound(when should I get my ultrasound done)?.
A:
If you are pregnant.
If you have acute or chronic pain abdomen or distension of abdomen.
If you have a lump or swelling on your body or thyroid or breast.
Q:Is ultrasound safe? Are frequent ultrasound are harmfull to my baby?
A: Current studies show that diagnostic ulrasound when done by expert (radiologist )is totally safe even done daily. And please keep in mind that ultrasound do not cause birth defects, rather helps to detect it.
Q:What is best time of ultrasound in pregnancy and how many ultrasound?
A: Usually atleast 4 USG are required in pregnancy.
1.Early scan at 6-8 wks,
2.NT/NB scan 11-14 wks,
3. Level-II scan at 18-24 wks and
4. color doppler at 28-34wks) however your doctor may prescribe it at any time depending on condition.
Q:Are doctors avialble at Jangra Diagnostic Centre for geneal consultation?
A:YES and it is free of cost. If you are not seeing a doctor than you must consult our doctor to get the right investigation prescribed
Q: Does level-II scan aka anomaly scan detects all the abnormality?
A: NO, anomaly scan detects almost 70-80% of structural abnormality.
Q: Is 3D/4D scan is same as level-II scan aka anomaly scan?
A: 3D/4D uultrasound is used for creating life like images of baby and it is neither a part nor it equals the level-II scan.
Q:Should I come empty stomach?
A:For ultrasound of whole abdomen, patient should come empty stomach(specially for GallBladder stone). All other scan can be done in any state.
Q:Should I come full bladder?
A:For ultrasound of lower and whole abdomen, patient should come with full bladder.
Q: Can I take pictures or video during ultrasound.
A: No, it is not allowed.
